Carrier Infinity System

Voice Integration

With voice control quickly becoming an expected part of the package for connected home brands, Carrier partnered with us to add Amazon Alexa Integration to their Infinity System wall control.

We worked with Carrier to develop an Alexa skill that lets customers control their home's temperature and fan settings using simple voice commands.

How it Works

When instructed, an Alexa-enabled smart speaker communicates with Carrier’s system and adjusts the environment in specific areas of the house. Users can set zones and assign names to specific rooms of their home via the MyInfinity companion app or an online customer portal.

Activity Hold

Controlling the temperature via Alexa activates a Manual Touch ’n Go™ activity hold with heat and cool setpoints to attain the requested temperature for the current mode (Heat, Cool or Auto). The manual activity hold is scheduled until the start of the next program period.

Command Examples

  • "Alexa, set the living room to 68 degrees."

  • "Alexa, lower the upstairs temperature by 4 degrees."

  • "Alexa, heat the kitchen 2 degrees."

  • "Alexa, set the living room fan to 50%"

  • "Alexa, turn on away at home"

  • "Alexa, turn on sleep upstairs"

When we originally launched Infinity, there was no concept of Alexa. As opportunities to expand their product reach have presented themselves, we’ve helped Carrier stay relevant and transition to new platforms.

Our team designed the user experience, built the IoT infrastructure and continues to manage the development roadmap.

This includes addressing reported issues, rolling out updates to the wall control and connected applications, and expanding the platforms and integrations that allow customers to interact with Carrier’s product.
